ADDRESS YOUR REPLY
TO DERBY

Ref. MAM/EG.
25th. February.1933.

W.A.Robotham Esq.,
c/o Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
Derby.

Dear Arthur,

Very many thanks for your letter of February 22nd, and application form.

I quite agree with what you say about supercharging so far as your relation to it is concerned.

There are of course, few people who are not a little interested in the evasion of horse power tax. There is however, the question of low speed torque and performance at low speeds on top gear which can be materially improved with supercharging.

The question of silence is one that has probably exercised your mind quite a lot, and I think we have made some considerable advances in this direction, having almost got down to your standards of quietness.

We shall have a new test bed going here very shortly, and I hope you will look me up one day.

Yours sincerely,

Michael McEvoy
