In order to test a new method of constructing the first engine mounting, to replace the mounting which failed on the 10,000 miles car in France, we have made a rough scheme of the proposed new mounting for experimental use on the bump chassis. We are now proceeding with the design for fitting this scheme to the Wraith lll chassis, and in the meantime the rough application can be tried on the bump chassis. It is not proposed to issue any details for this scheme from the Drawing Office. An advance print of E.CD.28 has already been handed to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} The torque re-action dampers to be used in conjunction with this engine support will be tried in various positions as arranged with Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}, the object being to remove the torque action from the nose bearing itself to something more substantial.
