-3- Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}9/T25/5/25. while the chassis are on test, but these signs are not sufficient to warrant any action being taken. 13. Battery Ignition. I agree with this remark. I have taken it up with BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} EFC. and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and with a view to helping them to arrive at some decision, I am running an earthing scheme on a car we are using for axle testing. 14. Exhaust Cut Out Control. This is a question of design. 15. Carburetter Petrol Drain Pipe. We are making the best of this on cars just prior to being despatched in that we put the pipe in a position so as to be as far away from the exhaust system as possible. We cannot of course guarantee that they will stay in this position. I think some method of locking this pipe, and so securing it in such a position would be an advantage. 16. Oil Consumption of Engine. I have not made any specific tests of this, we do not run cars sufficiently long to be able to get any definite data. I agree we are on the verge of oiling up of ignition plugs, and have already taken up with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} the question of a more suitable ignition plug than the Lodge C.65 plug we are using. I feel that the K.L.G. plug that we are using on the 20HP car is more suitable for an Engine which is inclined to overoil. This point I am arranging to confirm by running a number of Chassis on test with K.L.G. Plugs in. This I am doing with the agreement of BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} who are prepared to agree to using this plug. It is found to be better all round than the Lodge. 17. Accelerator Pedal. This is a question of design, as you are aware it was mentioned at the time PN.{Mr Northey} and CWB. were here testing the Trials Cars. 18. Low Tension wire to Actuator Box. This is a question of design, and I do not think we can do any more. 19. Earth Connection Main Wiring. I am inclined to agree with EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} on this point. We are making the best of the job as it is at present. 20. Battery Wires. This job has now had attention and is quite satisfactory. Contd. | ||
