- II - (11). Floatchamber lid{A. J. Lidsey} suitable for application of overflow pipe in case of flooding, when used with electrical petrol pumps, in order to avoid risk of fire. The floatchamber lid{A. J. Lidsey} must also have the RR. name plate attached. (12). Petrol catch tray below accelerator pump operating rod to catch petrol leakage from pump spindle in case of full bore flooding with its risk of fire. (13). Machining of spigot for air intake pipe, as the die castings are not circular and the choke housing is distorted due to this when the air pipe is fitted causing choke valve to stick. (14). Leather accelerator piston (strengthened type) in place of brass piston to increase efficiency of pump. (15). Improved external black enamel finish. The following items which were originally special for carburetters, supplied to RR. are now standard features of the Stromberg carburetter :- (a). Treatment of internal surfaces of die-cast parts to prevent the formation of a white deposit. (b). All external steel and brass fittings nickel deposited. (c). Throttle spindle made in brass. (d). Arrangement of slow running passages and metering devices, similar to that on Phantom lll carburetters. (e). Main petrol feed to floatchamber .156 diameter hole. (f). Boss for auto-ignition advance connection left undrilled. Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Mc.S. | ||
