NOTES MADE BY MR.CHARLES FAROUX RE OUR BENTLEY DEMONSTRATOR B-I-CW Four thermometres were fitted to the car in the following position 1) Against the front carburetor 2) Against the rear carburetor 3) On the electric pump 4) On the rood of the car for the outside temperature RESULTS OBTAINED Exterior temperature Temperature Results Front carb. Rear carb. Pump 44° C 111°F 76° 169°F 80° 176°F 75° 167°F Vapour lock carburetor empty 47° C 117°F 78° 173°F 82° 180°F 78° 173°F Vapour lock 40° C 104°F 68° 155°F 76° 169°F 70° 158°F Vapour lock but the pump is feeding a little & the lavel of the front car. contains still some petrol. 48° C 119°F 79° 174°F 85° 185°F 81° 178°F Everything is empty the pump is working but without drawing any petrol and the feed pipe from the rear tank to the petrol pump is emitting vapour. During each trial, the car was driven on second and third speeds with average gradians of 10 to 12% - maximum 16 to 18%) with numerous bends, (col du Galibier, Var, Izoard, Cayolle, La{L. A.
