Interchangeability of gearboxes between chassis B-35-AE and B-187-BL, and plans for a special gearbox for the Ulster race.

Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}3/CG.6.7.34. The gearboxes are interchangeable between B-35-AE and B-187-BL. On the other hand, it is not proposed to leave the special gearbox being prepared for B-35-AE with this car as the bottom gear will be a racing ratio and will not permit of a start being made on any appreciable gradient. We therefore think that the gearbox will be considered as part of the special unit provided for B-35-AE for the Ulster race and will be returned to the Works after the race.
