-2- RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}6/BE2.6.33. It will be observed there is an increase of .0035" in the end clearance of the driven gear at completion of 100 hrs. In this condition, the gears were perfectly silent, although a very slight rattle came up at 600 rpm. when delivering at a pressure of 15 lbs.sq.in. This was very slight and it would be doubtful whether it would be noticeable on the chassis. No tests were carried out on the 20/25HP. as these pumps were considered to be perfectly satisfactory. The alterations which have been made by deleting the grooves at the bottom of gear teeth and ducts in the casing to prevent oil trapping must have been done to D.O. instructions. These alterations were incorporated on Phantom Pumps only, when the oil reservoir on the suction side was introduced. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} | ||
