Copy. S/W... Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} c. to Tr.{Capt. F. W. Turner - Finance} ------------ C7/C25.E.29. ------------ RE AMERICAN DESIGNS. I enclose copy of letter addressed to Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} (who is unfortunately still away with 'flu but whom we are expecting back towards the end of the week) received from America, together with a copy of the enclosure to which they refer. From this you will see that there appears to be every prospect of America buying chassis from us on considerably more advantageous terms than the scheme which was originally discussed. In order to start things going, will you please let me know if you see any technical objection to leaving off the items which they are suggesting they should furnish themselves; more particularly in respect of the electrical equipment, presumably. Would it not be a good idea to suggest they should send us a set of their own stuff which we could use for testing purposes? You will note they are asking for coachbuilders drawings so that Brewsters may go ahead with the designing of the bodies. Will you please let me know if you are in a position to supply these for the left-hand chassis. I believe Mr. Burton did something re preparing these when he was over. If you have the necessary drawings and see no objection, perhaps you will kindly send us down a set that we could send to America when replying to their letter. Also, are you yet in a position to supply the other drawings they ask for in paragraphs (b) and (c) at the end of their enclosure? C. Enc. letter from Mr. Fuller of 14.2.29. | ||
