Performance impact of increased compression on a 20 HP engine and proposing further testing.

Without the modification to the manifold the cutout is hardly worth while.

The slight increase in compression on the 20 HP. gives it a very definite increase in performance. The increase is greater than the impression one gets from the power curve. We cannot say that this power is obtained without any sacrifice in smoothness. From our experience so far we think the difference is only a small amount. We feel however it is advisable to run experimental cars giving a good performance, and then tackle the problem of still maintaining the same smoothness.

We propose sending this car to W.W. and letting the driver bring away 8-C-111 car.
