7. A gear according to claim 5, comprising a double-ended cylinder coaxial with the shaft, a piston in the cylinder and connected to the member referred to in claim 5 to move it, a second cylinder and piston for engaging the slipping clutch against a spring load acting to disengage that clutch, and means operable to admit compressed air to one or other end, selectively, of the first cylinder and then to admit air at a controlled pressure variable at will to the other cylinder or to open both cylinders to the atmosphere. 8. A gear according to any of the preceding claims in which the reversing clutches are cone friction clutches. 9. A gear according to any of the preceding claims in which the driving member of the slipping clutch is driven directly by the engine of the vehicle. 10. A driving and steering gear for an endless-track vehicle substantially as described herein with reference to Figures 1 and 2 or Figure 3 of the accompanying drawings.
