The silence of the third gear showed up to be very much better than the Phantom II (26-EX), which we had with us. The Graham Paige is a much larger car, and of course has a bigger engine than the 25 HP. As a result of trying the Graham Paige, we have got R.{Sir Henry Royce} to agree to us making an experiment which we have wanted to do for some time, and that is to cast the cylinder and top half crankcase in one and produce it in cast iron. This is the general method of construction on American cars, and we think helps them as regards engine smoothness. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
