Dear Sirs, re Rolls-Bentley - Proposed application 10.A3 Clutch We beg to confirm telephone conversation of today with the undersigned when you advised that you had decided to incorporate our 10.A3 clutch as shown on Installation Drawing SK.30604/2. In answer to the queries raised we would reply as follows: a.{Mr Adams} We much prefer that you manufacture the release bearing assembly together with gear box front nose extension, this latter detail may be made either in steel or close grained cast iron, preferably cast iron. b. We regret that we are unable to spline clutch shaft; all our customers completely machine their shafts and spline to dimensions we furnish, and satisfactory fits are obtained with our driven plate hub. Splined dimensions given on our Installation Drawing SK.30604/2 for 1-1/4" S.A.E. 10-splines. c. With regard to throwout fork, we appreciate that you are desirous of utilising existing detail as shown on right-hand side of scrap view and to this we are agreeable.
