To EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c.c. for. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} [redacted] x 205. E.6/HP.23.11.33. re Bonnet Rest - Bentley. Herewith sample of our present fabric used on the RR. chassis bonnet rest. The material is cotton, not Ferodo, and should be satisfactory when lubricated with grease. So far as I can see we should have to use this on the Bentley in the same way as we do on the RR chassis, but provide machined faces on the dashboard or faced bosses, to which the bonnet rests would be secured by studs and nuts locked with spring washers.
