Torsional vibration, balance, and unevenness in components.

(1) Seems a very slight amount but enough.

(2) Also seems a very small amount of unevenness is fatal.

(3) These seem all moving.

(4) Reason why the torsional vibration affects the car, but this seems of little importance as long as we can get rid of the cause of the vibration.

(5) What I meant to convey by my previous note is explained by the sketch suggested by Mr Royce. This will be in perfect balance as long as it runs at a uniform speed, but if the speed change it will be necessary to alter [text has been struck through] the speed of both pieces is not the same.
