Chassis Dover Steering Wheel which had been renovated by the Makers to cover up the cracks which had developed in the covering where the arms joined up to the rim. Quite a number of these wheels have been returned to us by customers on account of such cracks having developed, which have been returned to the Dover Company, who consider that when these wheels are renovated in the same manner as the one handed to you, they will be quite satisfactory, but before giving them permission to deal with the bulk, we consider it advisable for the renovated wheel to be tested out by you to see whether the cracks re-appear. We should be glad to know whether you can give any report in regard to the wheel in question, as the Order Office are pressing for a decision. BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /C. | ||
