When we adopted, after the standardisation sheet, the longer coil, we modified the existing moulds by merely turning out more of the top of the mould to allow for the increased length. In following this practice we had in mind the possibility of using the new type coil on replacement work where the shorter type coils failed, as incidentally we have had a number of coils in stabalite cases which have failed in connection with winding defects.

We wrote W.W. re this matter and in receipt of reply put in hand new design for E.A.C.11. so we shall be in the position in the near future of fitting coil cases to your latest design.

It is worthy of note in this connection that we do not do any turning on the coil case, the cases them-selves coming from the mould in quite good condition and only requiring buffing to give the finish required on production.
