X4273 X4596 (1) Referring to R7/M21123, special long cases were made in synthetic resin of the bakelite type in material supplied from different sources. EFC's final conclusions were that synthetic resin for this particular service was impracticable, as the latest type produced to his lengths, clearances, insulations etc., failed in a similar manner to the originals. (2) In regard to making certain parts of the coil case from synthetic resin, after producing the coil case itself, which is the crux of the position, in stabalite, it is impossible to get similar color and finish effects in the two different materials - it was therefore not considered a workable proposal in view of this. (3) Dealing now with the question of why we are still using a square base coil, as against the special design submitted from W.W. the position in regard to this was that in the first place we awaited the results of the attempt to improve the synthetic resin type of case before making a change. In the meantime we use the moulds which are already in existence for producing stabalite cases for both the 20HP and the 40/50. contd. | ||
