RE . LA{L. A. Archer} SALLE.

We have decided that this car is not of any value to us for educational purposes except the engine, and it is hardly worth buying it for the engine only, as it is such a long way from what we should produce as to be scarcely any indication, and might even be misleading.

We have decided that the original engine proposed is a little too small in size, and as E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} prefers to keep to the stroke bore ratio that we have adopted in our other aero engines (F.H. & R.{Sir Henry Royce}) we have decided to increase the bore to 3.5" with a 4" stroke.

Rg.{Mr Rowledge} has added to the suggestions of the utility of such an engine - i.e. a small fast naval scout for carrying on board ship.

We had thought it would be useful for single engine small private flying machines, and possibly for a safe, useful, medium size engine for a 3 engined luxury, or mail aeroplane.

We are producing a new drawing for Hawkers to criticise.

It can be simple, or geared, supercharged or not, according to the purpose for which it is used.

R.{Sir Henry Royce}
