X1027 BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RECEIVED NOV 16 1921 EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thn11/H14.11.21. F.R. X1027 Re. TOOL KIT FOR 40/50 CHASSIS. With reference to the above, Mr. Royce's memo R1@G2.11.21, you will remember that as a result of the 40/50 Tool Kit question being brought up at the Midland Hotel Conference it was agreed that this matter should receive careful attention with a view to making this tool kit thoroughly efficient and at the same time cutting it down to a minimum. As a result of this I sent you a report, reference EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}2/F27.4.21. I attach for your information a list of the tool kit as at present supplied with the 40/50 chassis, and I shall be glad if you will supply me with the following information:- 1. Does the list as attached to this memo agree with the official Drawing Office instructions? 2. Is it proposed as a result of the recent enquiry into the Tool Kit and my report EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}2/F27.4.21 to make any modifications? If so, what modifications are proposed, and how soon will they be incorporated. It is especially essential that this matter should be given careful consideration, as it is again referred to by R.{Sir Henry Royce} in page 6 of his report R7/G9.11.21. WILSON & SON EP.{G.
