X102-7 EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. Mr Booth. BY10-P18.11.21. TOOL KIT FOR 40/50 CHASSIS. Referring to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thnll/H141121, after carefully considering the position and checking up the Tools & Spares sheet submitted, my comments are as follows:- (1) We are desirous of cancelling Spanner E.81. as Spanner E.6422 is suitable for use with the nuts E.81. was provided for. (2) We have examined E.6422 Spanners in the Works and find that they were made too thick on the end - we have therefore added machining marks at this point so that the spanners will be finished to drawing size. (3) E.6422 will now be used for:- a/- Magneto Coupling Nut. b/- Locking Nut on Universal Ball Joint of Steering Column. c/- Thermostat Nut. I am in agreement with the proposal set out in your report EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}2/F27421, to delete the Gudgeon Pin Extractor E.18402, Tommy Bar and Box Spanner for Piston Pin E.1733/4 respectively. In addition I propose to add a suitable tool for grinding in the valves, a sample of which we have submitted to your office for approval. With exception of the foregoing points I agree that the copy of the Spares & Tools list supplied to my office under cover of EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thnll/H141121 is accurate and covers the Spares & Tools completely. Will Mr Booth kindly make the necessary arrangements to correct our Part List concerned, so as to bring it into line with this memo. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} [STAMP: RECEIVED NOV 30] | ||
