The following is the experimental information in connection with the items given in BJ7/E19.5.26 attached to EY's copy.

(3) It is impossible for us to say which RR. cars may be taken to France but we do know however that certain cars are sold to owners living in France and as they will be continually running on French roads, it would appear that if any preference is given, those cars should be attended to before others.
(4) Experimental tests show that the shocks on the Phantom steering are very little worse than 40/50 HP. fitted with 4-wheel brakes. As the Phantom runs at a higher speed, it will, for that reason be definitely worse. It should be remembered however that under the condition the steering is bad for road shocks, passengers also have an unhappy time with the shocks from the springing of the car. Therefore we should not expect any RR. owner, no matter how perfect the steering, to travel fast over bad roads. We do not wish to belittle the complaint, but this must be the reason why customers tolerate the steering and have tolerated it on the Silver Ghost.
(5) We have not tested the .940" steering, but we have tried the .937" which one can say is practically identical. At the time it was compared with the latest standard .720", the .940" was definitely not as good as the .720", it was considered that all our efforts should be made to get the .720" fitted.
