328 HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}1/R.3.8.37. P.III GEARBOX. Test Dept. is having considerable trouble with locking the rear nut of the gearbox to engine stay. Each time the plug is removed from the gearbox a new washer has to be fitted to get the lock plate in the right position. A scheme for overcoming this trouble was issued to you in By/TWD{T. W. D???Aeith}4/E.22.7.37., and we shall be glad if you will urge one set of parts so that we can see whether they work and are suitable for immediate use on production.
