Replying to your Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}1/W25.3.20m the new design of stamp flange was made use of in connection with the proposed new type of swan-neck exhaust pipe which gave more clearance for the body. That particular type of swan-neck appears to be difficult to make and we do not think it is probably worth while proceeding with it in view of the fact that we consider sufficient clearance can be obtained with the present pipe if enough care is taken.

The new flange and saddle piece can be adapted to the existing type of swan-neck without difficulty and we suggest that if we had a report on the suitability of these pieces we can get the necessary modifications to the standard pipe going with very little delay.
