H4/TB/61024. 6th. October, 1924. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hurliman, Esq., Klaus Strasse 24, ZURICH, SWITZERLAND. Dear Sir, Re:- Chassis No. 49-AE. We have to thank you for your letter of the 3rd. inst. from which we very much regret to learn that you are not satisfied with certain points with regard to your Rolls-Royce car. We are very glad to learn that you will shortly be bringing the car to England, and that you will be able to afford us an opportunity of making it satisfactory to you. We should like at the earliest convenient moment to go thoroughly into the question of the wiring, in order to trace the short circuit which you mention. There should be no difficulty in tracing and curing this, and, after doing so, we feel sure you will have no further cause for complaint with regard to the electrical system, as, provided a normal use of the car is made, there is ample charge from the dynamo which cuts in at the speed arranged for it. With regard to the overheating of the cooling water, we beg to advise you that this matter is at present the subject of very exhaustive experiments at our Works, and these experiments promise to give results which will overcome any complaint in this respect. We are not in a position at the moment to advise you what alterations to the system will be found the best, but perhaps when you are in London we shall be able to be more definite about this.
