BENTLEY CHASSIS - RE: DIFFICULTY DUE TO BATTERIES RUNNING DOWN. ------------------------------------------------------------- As a result of the enquiry as to what is preventing the voltage controlled dynamo from keeping up the battery satisfactorily on the Bentley chassis, it was discovered that no allowance has been made for the resistance between the regulator and the battery in the form of a conductor. We have now arranged to use a new regulator or controller, Type B.2.CJ.1., which is wound in such a manner as to compensate for the resistance which lies in the form of the conductor between the controller and the battery. We suggest that Repair Department should order two dozen controllers B.2.CJ.1. and then return the old controllers Type B.2.CF.1. to the Works where we will in turn arrange to have them re-wound to form the new type. By this means it will be possible to replace practically all the old type controllers as Bentley chassis come in for overall etc. The new type controller will be listed for production.
