We send herewith drawing LeC.2098, shewing the modification to the rear end of the 2nd. motion shaft on the 40/50 'W' series gearbox, necessary for EAC. 7. when the starter is on the engine. The modification consists in eliminating the short splined length behind the rear bearing which carried the starter dogs, and fitting the ball bearing retaining nut G.3540. immediately behind the bearing.
