X8310 X8380 We have had several complaints of the floating change speed lever not working freely. We agree that there is cause for complaint. The stickiness appears to depend upon how the lever is handled. If one holds the lever lightly, it will slide easily, but if any pressure is put on it, it is inclined to stick. The sideways control springs are very light. They have been reduced from the original ones instructed. We suggest it would be a good scheme if we tried balls in the bush similar to what is used on the Napier Cars. The new scheme for 'V' series does not operate as nicely as the scheme we had on the Hawk-Northcliffe. We are making comparisons between the two to find a reason for this.
