| To By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} X350 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/PJH.27/KW.7.11.35. Phantom III Steering. We have found that the results obtained from the Marles type Ph.III steering are improved if the Adamant type parallel roller bearings on the ends of the cam are made more accurately, so that the load is distributed uniformly along the rollers. Commander Matravers visited us recently and he agreed to correct the cone angles of the cam and races if necessary. Will you please arrange to send back to the Adamant Co. all the cams, cam bearing races and roller followers that we have in stock (approx. 20 sets we believe), so that they can be corrected. 1 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.J.Hardy. | ||
