~~BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}~~ ) FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ) ~~Copy to SC.~~ ~~Copy to - WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}~~ ~~Copy to - C.~~ ORIGINAL R1/M4.9.30. RECEIVED SEP 19 1930 x4442 re. CHROMIUM PLATING. I have recently seen several failures of this both from our own and other sources, and it occurred to me that providing a substantial coating of nickel is adopted, the thinner (i.e. very thin bright deposit,) coating of chromium may be the more reliable. Naturally it may also have the advantage in cost. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
