Further to our letter of the 17th instant, re changing the design of instrument board on the remaining Bentley V cars to be completed, we are now in a position to give you the final details. (1) The layout of the board should be to Drg.B369 of which we enclose a print for fear your copy has been mislaid. All the instruments which are always present are shown as full circles, except for the instrument light switch and rheostat. The position of the latter is controlled by what extra instruments are fitted to a particular car e.g. there may be a radio, a heater or a radio and heater. The standard ash-tray and cigar lighter must be accommodated. (2) The angle of the board to the vertical must be 10° at least. (3) The instrument board lights should be each side of the centre of the board, between the screen wiper and the screen opening mechanism. The lights must be kept as far away from the board (as on 12.B.V.) being just below the face capping of | ||
