E.Fowler Clark,Esq., Messrs.Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Mr.Clark, Tungstone Accumulator. I am very much obliged for your letter EFC2/T of the 21st instant. I am afraid the position is getting involved, and I am glad, under the circumstances, that you have so candidly asked me to find some other means of obtaining the desired information. I must, however, beg you to note that in neither letter have I asked you to make any statement which was not true. If you would not mind looking at my original letter and studying the first paragraph thereof, you will see that this was a request to explain an exclusive claim to use only pure lead for plate grids and paste. In your letters you are regarding the term 'pure lead' as indicating metallic lead not mixed with any alloy, but obviously paste could not be made of such material: whereas I referred to the purity of the materials used for plate grids and paste. With regard to the last paragraph of your letter, I cannot very well write to the Tungstone Company direct and ask them to explain the difference between the analysis of their grids and their exclusive claims. With kind regards, Yours very truly, ECMcKinnon | ||
