Sidgreaves - MD} 4243 Bumpers - Burma/Tibet In the course of alterations to the bumper bar shapes we have recently taken the opportunity to look more deeply into the question of bumper heights as affected by the new S.A.E. standard concerning the subject. We find that under the condition of breaking described by the Design Office as ".8g retardation" the front bumper of Burma dives to a position which is nearly one inch below the S.A.E. recommendation. This phenomenon occurs only at the front of Burma; the rear end condition could be described as just scraping by.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Tibet is within the recommendations, both front and rear. Overriders are not referred to in the S.A.E. standard, but if we take them into consideration we are, of course, well "out of the red" in every case and I suggest that this must be our whole defence.
