17 Clan file 30.9.40. FIRE PROTECTION - CLAN FOUNDRY. The use of incendiary bombs is increasing. Since we have no night-shift it is essential that we have an organisation for dealing with fire when the day-shift are not on the premises. It has been arranged that 3 L.D.V's will be permanently on duty during the night, in addition to the night watchman. Therefore, we have asked the following people who live in Belper to form a night fire squad. Bloomer.F.S. Buckingham.(Senior) Booth.R. Blount.A. Brookes.L.H. Ford.C. Morgan.H. Morton.J.E. Turner.P. Waterfall.C.J.N. In case of fire, contact will be made with Morgan by one of the L.D.V's on duty, and he will take the lorry and collect the fire squad. Practices will be held to ensure that the Squad are familiar with the use of the fire-fighting apparatus, and also that a reasonable number of them can reach the Clan premises shortly after the outbreak of fire.
