TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} ORIGINAL DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}2/M25.4.27. FRONT AXLES. X8420 X5420 R.{Sir Henry Royce} wishes to design a front axle for the 20HP. following the lines of the lightened Phantom type, that is to say, with more out-of-centre-point, and other improvements. We understand from a number of reports that the Phantom axle is superior to the old type under each of the following headings - (1) Steering lightness in shunting. (2) Road reaction. (joggling). (3) High speed wobbles. (4) Low speed wobbles. We should be glad if you would confirm this. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
