To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} t u z Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}18/KW.5.2.35. Clutch Spring Drives. 5-B-IV is at present fitted with a Terraplane cork clutch and spring drive. In spite of the very light flywheel no overrun rattles are apparent. We should like to be able to fit a similar scheme to any Bentley clutch. Will you please therefore take particulars from the Terraplane & now dismantled, and scheme an exactly similar drive to fit in our standard clutch. We believe this type of spring drive has a deflection curve approximately as shown [DIAGRAM] Vertical Axis: DEFLECTION Horizontal Axis: LOAD Bottom Left Quadrant: OVERRUN SIDE Bottom Right Quadrant: DRIVE SIDE [/DIAGRAM] Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
