With reference to the suggestion that we should fit the increased springs in the clutch, we have no springs available at the moment, and in addition certain other parts are required which will demand the making of special equipment, and therefore there is no prospect of our being able to comply with the Experimental Department's suggestion immediately. We will have to despatch chassis as completed with the old standard springs, as so far as I am aware no difficulty has arisen in using these. The actual increase of torque is in the neighbourhood of between 3 and 5% on the experimental engine, and generally speaking we tend to be some-what down on experimental figures, so that I see no need for holding up delivery. We are issuing instructions to bring in the new parts as soon as they are available on production, and we think this might possibly be arranged from chassis 76th onwards, but Sft.{Mr Swift} will be able to advise us better on this matter. in 'G' series BY.{R.W.
