List of faults noted from reports and inspections of chassis No. 10-G-3 during a 10,000-mile test.

Chassis No. 10-G-3.

The following points have been noted from the daily reports of running and periodical inspections made of the above car during its recent 10,000 mile test.

It will be a matter of great interest to us to learn in a months time and at subsequent intervals, of the remedies which have been applied to eliminate these troubles.

Steering. Shocks on steering wheel bad on rough roads.
Heavy whipping of steering column.
Steering column knocking on instrument board.
Front axle pivot bushes and washers scored.
Stiffening up of steering during course of the run.
Development of slow speed wobbles after 6,000 miles running.
Stickiness in steering.

Brakes. Development of thumping in front brakes.
Squeaking of rear brakes.
Squeaking of front brakes.

Development of slackness in controls with consequent lost motion and rattle.
Undue wear in rear shock absorber ball joints.
Looseness of front engine support tube in housing.
Poor compression in cylinders at end of test.
Cutting through of accumulator to frame wire by brake ropes.
Defective lagging of rear silencer.
Wear in radiator controls.
Deterioration of fabric drive to water pump.
Rear axle thrust. Is new type departure thrust quite O.K?

Weakness in the attachments of battery box.
Weakness of bonnet catches.
Damage to dash board and radiator through punching of bonnet hinges.
Breakages of exhaust pipe flanges.
Breakage of side spare wheel carrier.
Breakages of rear spring leaves.
Weakness of front wing supports and fastenings.
Breakage of Cambridge thermometer tube.

Oil System. Failure of oil pressure on braking and undue length of time required to build pressure up again.
Sticking up of oil relief valve.
