On my arrival at Sev this morning I examined the relief valve in the Shock Damper governor & found this was held open by foreign matter. When I assembled this I ran the car on the jacks but could not get any pressure & after having checked things over I removed the governor from the gear box & stripped it. Under 'E' valve seat which is situated in the centre plug in the bottom of the case I found a piece of the alum casting.
On re-assembling & filling with oil the pressure was maintained & corresponded with the readings which I took soon after leaving.

Derby.
