E.7.C X6036. Date 10-12-30 Ref NO. WE65 X. NOS. 6036 Delco-Remy ignition coil. We have now completed bench tests to our general schedule on a Delco Remy ignition coil as fitted to a number of American cars, having the primary on the outside. The coil in question failed almost immediately on our final breakdown test and upon unwinding, this failure was found to be due to the fact that the windings were almost completely charred. This coil will not stand up to our vigorous heating tests as will be seen from the results entered on the form attached. A coarser gauge primary winding is indicated. It will be interesting to note that the internal features of the Lucas coil we recently tested are almost precisely the same as this Delco Remy coil. H E West | ||
