B.V. ENGINE TEST
BED WORK.
cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}

Bentley and the 25/30, we ought to have two valve springs as a safety factor.

We have also been checking over camshaft oscillations to see if they have any bearing on valve spring failure. Tests have been carried out using Metalastik flexible coupling and light camwheel with a view to helping production to obtain quiet timing gears.

An investigation has been made into the possibility of improving intermediate bearing life by a re-arrangement of the balance weights, and it appears that as a result of this a small improvement may be possible.

We have completed 400 hours general development running on B.V. engine, and when stripped down the bearings were in an exceedingly good condition. These bearings are of the type which are at present running in the car in France.
