[Handwritten] X7390 To DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AJL. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AJL1/LG6.2.28. 'SS{S. Smith}' OPEN CAR - 23-EX. [Handwritten] X7390 [Handwritten, crossed out] X7830 In reply to EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/4. 2. 29 - referring to wings and valances. We would like to point out that it is impossible entirely to finish off the front wings and valances ready for painting until the body is in its final position on the chassis. The shape of the valance is entirely governed by the shape of the body the same applies to the portion of the valance that is made in one piece with the front wing. The quickest way to get the job done is to supply us with the necessary paint for the wings, Sanderson & Holmes can then paint them after their fitting work is completed. We get very little advantage as far as time is concerned by receiving the wings prior to the body. We should also prefer to have the bonnet painted at Derby; we cannot run the chassis about without it, and we shall gain no time by sending it away. The six 20" wheels will be despatched immed-iately to the Carlton Carriage Co. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/A.J.Lidsey. | ||
