Dear Wilks,

Many thanks for your letter of September 2nd. We do not wish to be dogmatic as to how you should increase the lubrication to the pin. Naturally if there is difficulty in production we should like you to submit an alternative method to us of which we can approve. I certainly think that if you are not going to alter the brinell of the crankshaft you will have to do a considerable amount of test bed running before you can think of putting in a car. It may be successful, but our experience on the subject is zero.

It was very nice of you to suggest fixing me up with a 20 H.P. car. Your brother wrote and suggested he should loan me the one we had over here previously, and I think I will now write and accept his offer, so that I can be satisfied as to whether my wife will be happy with the handling of this car, or whether she will think it too big for the work she has to do.

I will write to you about coming over to Coventry when I get back from Scotland.

Yours sincerely,

P.S.
