Py3 - G71020 Oct. 7, 1920 Mr. Claude Johnson - 2 Model 6LXR-9-1 (Cont'd) Amps taken on braking (mean) 150 amps Amps taken on roll (mean) 75 amps Capacity test (maximum to stalling) 26 min. Cranking rpm (mean) 66 rpm Test taken at Starting Motor terminals Voltage on roll 10 volts Voltage at braking 9.2 " EXIDE BATTERY (A smaller battery which at this time we thought we might be able to use for the internal position) Model 6XC-11-1 (14 3/4" X 8 5/8" wide X 9 1/8" high over-all) Capacity 67 amps hrs - 5 amps Voltage (open circuit) 11.7 amps Voltage on roll (mean) 10.6 amps Voltage (stalling) 6.5 amps Starting ability 197 amps for 5 min. Mean Temperatures (Battery, Engine water and) 40 degrees Fah. (oil, atmospheric ) Amps taken on braking (mean) 149 amps Amps taken on roll (mean) 75 amps *Capacity test (maximum to stalling) 15 min. Cranking rpm (mean) 65 rpm (*Note: Battery had been standing three weeks and was not fully charged. Further tests being taken) From the use of the battery on imported cars we believe that it is one of the best obtainable and that for durability it compares favorably with the Willard with threaded rubber separators. In the 6-LXR-9-1 the separators are of wood with a sheet of perforated vulcanite between the separator and the positive plate. | ||
