This method would also make the process easier of adoption, and would be of less cost.

It is also proposed to make parts now produced in nickel silver, and which have to be plated, in brass. Ten sets have been ordered up by BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} for trial.

Before making the above suggestions we discussed the question with OY., and he informed us that originally the whole of the bright parts of the Springfield chassis were chrome plated, but that they were compelled to revert to nickel plate inside the body, as the chrome finish did not blend with the upholstery as satisfactorily as the nickel finish and caused a certain amount of adverse criticism.

It is proposed to make all bonnet hinges in Staybrite, as these parts are difficult to chrome plate, and are also liable to be damaged at the sharp edges where movement takes place when opening the bonnet. The hinges have to be made a very close fit at the joints to give a good appearance and movement at these tight fitting places is liable to cause lifting of the plating.

A complete set of parts for a chassis has been sent to the Chromo Process Syndicate Ltd., and they have agreed to plate them for us. This set will be fitted to an experimental car when returned and submitted for examination.

A report will be sent of the meeting with the Director of Chromo Process Syndicate after his visit.

Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}
