S.S. 223A (100 T) (S.H. 159 11-8-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2800 TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} X1775 R4/M24.10.25. Copy to ~~BS.{A J. Barnes - Assistant Manager}~~ ABBREVIATION OF STAFF NAMES. I have received Motor Show reports from some of your assistants, via BJ. I notice that they mostly sign their initials, which may be officially known, but I have no record. It would be better if anybody writing memos. and reports, wrote their full name, unless we have a record of their abbreviation. A capital letter with one or two letters to indicate the surname is better than a lot of initials, except in the case of exactly the same surnames. The incidents I have in mind are ACL. and AJL. I have taken these to be Mr. Lovesey, and Mr. Lidsey respectively. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
