CUSTOMER'S COMPLAINT, GXO.46.

As the result of enquiries on our part, in connection with the above complaint, we have received a report from Cricklewood.

They have succeeded in tracing the cause of the trouble which was due to the insulation on the cable that runs between the dynamo field terminal and the distribution board becoming frayed through the vibration of the car, and allowing the bare conductor to make contact with the surrounding metal-work. This occurred at the point where the cable enters the conduit just below the dashboard and would have the effect of earthing the battery through the field fuse. Owing to the intermittent nature of the fault, the insulation, with the car standing being quite alright on a voltage as high as 240, it would be very difficult to locate.

We are taking the matter up with the Drawing Office with a view to either improving the insulation or the method of securing the cable at this point.

C. A. {Mr Adams} Pignatt.
