Operations, forging drawings and turning drawings are prepared and copies of the operations circulated.

The operation list includes a symbol for the subsequent direction of the Tool Drawing Office but tools are not instructed at this juncture.

The material column on each L.O.P. is completed for Order Office reference. The L.O.P's are carefully examined to ensure that standard (KB) parts are used wherever possible.

INSTRUCTION TO TOOL DRAWING OFFICE.

When advised by the administration that tools may be ordered, BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} sends the tracings, section by section, to the Planning Dept. and Order Office.

The Planning Dept. in conjunction with the Order Office, obtains blueprints for Tool Drawing Office use and advises the respective Tool D.O. sections of the pieces which require tooling and their urgency from a tooling point of view.

TOOL DRAWING NUMBERS.

The Planning Dept. is supplied with a copy of each order issued by the Tool D.O. and the Tool drawing number is added to the Operation List and the tracing of the component drawing.

DESIGN ALTERATIONS.

Each alteration to detail or L.O.P. passes through the Planning Dept. and the necessary modification to operations etc. made immediately. Steps are taken to notify the various departments concerned.

Tool D.O. and Tool Room are advised when parts are deleted from L.O.P. or quantity is reduced.
