To. EY from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. HC (T prime). x.4248 x-4247 RECEIVED 17 MR 1921 Goshawk II - Gear Box. We send herewith three prints of "N" Scheme 804 shewing the rear end of the 3rd motion shaft adapted to suit the universal joint on LeC.1363. We have thought it desirable to increase the 2.1" shewn on LeC.1346 to about 2.4. We also shew a plain hole through the 2nd motion shaft, the bolt through the centre made out of plain bar screwed at each end, and a standard cylinder plug on the rear cover for holding the bolt head. We should be glad if you would check that the standard box spanner will go through this plug, and if not, increase the size to the next size plug.
