To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}1/KW. 21.2.35. SpectreCodename for Phantom III Front Brake Adjustment. Further to our memo. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}17/KW.21.1.35, we attach hereto a graph giving a comparison of the lost movement which occurs under load between the SpectreCodename for Phantom III original adjustment mechanism, and the later type having needle roller bearings and increased resistance to torsional deflection. It will be seen that the later type is an improvement on the original, but at the same time the lost movement is still too great to allow us to call this mechanism satisfactory.
