COX "ATMOS" SEPARATOR FILTER. HOW TO FIX. WITH GRAVITY FEED. Filter should be fixed in such position as to bring outlet B just below bottom of main fuel tank. Attach pipe from main tank to union marked A, and pipe from carburetter to union B. WITH AUTOVAC FEED. Filter should in this case be mounted in circuit between main fuel tank and 'autovac,' thereby protecting both autovac and carburetter from ill effects of water and dirt. Attach pipe from main tank to union A and pipe lead to autovac to union B. WITH PRESSURE FEED. Attach pipe from main tank to union A and pipe from carburetter to union B. In each case choose a position for filter which gives easy access to drain cock C at bottom of filter. TO PREVENT AIR LOCK. When first fitted, or if lower chamber E has been removed, release nut D and leave same free till fuel commences to flow from joint which this nut seals. This will allow air to escape from upper chamber if by chance any may have been trapped there. The latter precaution only applies with gravity feed. DIAGRAM SHOWING HOW THE "ATMOS" SEPARATOR FILTER ACTS. FLUFF AND ANY OTHER FOREIGN MATTER WHICH IS LIGHTER THAN MOTOR FUEL IS STOPPED BY GAUZE HERE. TO REMOVE GAUZE (IF EVER NECESSARY) TAKE OFF CHAMBER E BY UNSCREWNING SAME, INSERT COIN IN SLOT PROVIDED AT G AND UNSCREW GAUZE CHAMBER. GAUZE CAN THEN BE ENTIRELY REMOVED BY UNSCREWNING RETAINING COLLAR H FUEL TO CARBURETTER OR AUTOVAC LEAVES FROM HERE FREED FROM ALL IMPURITIES. FUEL FROM MAIN TANK ENTERS HERE WATER AND ALL FOREIGN MATTER WHICH IS HEAVIER THAN MOTOR FUEL IS DEPOSITED AND REMAINS HERE. WATER CAN BE DRAINED OFF HERE THIS CUP AS SHOWN IS 2" DEEP. LARGER CUPS TO HOLD STILL MORE WATER CAN BE SUPPLIED STOCK SIZES 3" & 4". PRICE 30/-. NO CAR IS COMPLETE WITHOUT IT. | ||
